October update 2023
Hello everyone! Thank you so much for your continued prayers over ministry. We have been blessed to have many people from around the world praying for the work we are doing for God's Kingdom. We have been in Rochester, NY for only a couple weeks now, but as October wraps up we want to provide a monthly update. We have also seen God move in so many ways even in this short amount of time here!
Firstly, leading the youth group has been such a joy that God has put before us. We have seen the ways God has prepared the hearts of the youth and has carried out His will. We have already got four new friends coming to youth group so far by God's grace! We meet with the youth on Sunday nights and we have done this twice now. The first week we really spent time getting to know them all and brainstorming ideas for the year ahead.
The second youth group we got to share the Gospel with around 20 teenagers! We come before God in praise to thank Him for having the space to share the good news with so many. We saw God moving in the youth because the simple Gospel holds great truths. We started this way because we believe in the importance of a firm foundation. That our foundation of faith is built on Jesus Christ. The teenagers come from different points in their faith, so we would love your prayers over their Spiritual growth and that those who have not given their lives to Christ will do so!

As our youth group continues to grow, we have been getting more Bibles and journals for those
who come. We are encouraging healthy Spiritual habits of getting in the Word of God and also using journals to process what we are going through. Journals are a great tool to help us process with God where we are at, and with time, invite friends in Christ to speak truth into our situations.
We are now moving into a study of the book of Romans. Each week we are going to dive into Scripture, for we recognize that "the word of God is live and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12) and "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work" (2 Timothy 3:16-17). The book of Romans continues to expand upon the truths of Scripture, going through what humanity looks like before Christ, coming to Christ, and with Christ. Their great response to the sharing of the Gospel is simply what is all found in the Bible!
We have got time to spend with families of the church as well. It has been sweet to grow not only with the youth, but with those of the church body. Our friend Colleen has graciously opened up her basement as an apartment until we find a place of our own. We have enjoyed spending time with her!
Prayer requests:
For the church of Trinity Communion to continue to grow deeper in Christ. That the teenagers in our youth group would be led by the Spirit, learning to put no idols before our Lord Jesus Christ. To grow in love towards one another. To know their own identities in Christ.
God's continued guidance over our steps. We are praying into finding a home in the future so we can have a space to steward for God's glory. We hope to host the youth, invite people for dinner, use it as a gathering space, raise up leaders, and more. We ask for your prayers for God's guidance in doing so. Also, that God will make clear the workplaces that He desires for us to be in.
That God will bring faithful leaders into our youth group so that we can cultivate a space for healthy growth as more teens start to come. Healthy discipleship comes from healthy leaders following after Christ.
Praise the Lord for He is good. May "the Lord bless and keep you. The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord turn HIs face towards you and give you peace" (Numbers 6:24-26).
May you continue to grow in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ and be present to the Spirit's leading.
God bless,
Samson & Chloe
