May the peace and grace of Jesus Christ be with you!
Happy New Year! As we enter 2026, we are reminded to have God's glory be at the front of our vision and goals!
In wrapping up the 2025 year, we have now been back on the mission field for about 4 months. Even though we have been in Costa Rica for only a third of the 2025 year, we want to share some of the big celebrations of what God is doing! For those who have supported us through giving or those who are on our partner team, we celebrate with you as you are partaking in this fruit. We are grateful to share what God is doing and has done here in Costa Rica.
Celebrations of 2025:

Through the discipleship center, we have had six men graduate within the last three months of 2025. We praise God that these six men are not only sober, but walking faithfully with Jesus. Even though the men in this program come from past struggles with drugs and alcohol, we emphasize the end goal is not for them to be sober. We don't set the bar there. We want to see them stand firm against temptation to past sin, but also to abide in Christ. To be a living sacrifice. To deny their flesh and carry their cross. That they walk in being discipled daily and having the ability to disciple others.
Three of these graduates are leading in a discipleship program right now. Three of the others are integrated in our church community, staying connected, and stepping into their next season of life. These men see the importance of healthy, church community when they go through the program, so they are mindful to stay connected.

We have had 6 baptisms of men into the family of God! We are a discipleship center, but in the ministry that God has equipped us to do, we are also evangelistic. How beautiful it is to see eternal salvation for men that used to be on the streets. To see them baptized into the family!
Men that come into our program will no doubt experience the presence and love of Jesus. Even for those who abandon the program, that is the hope that we hold onto. That a seed was planted in their life. That they have heard the truth and have been told who is the giver of life.

We had two Interns join us in late November. They are both family friends from our time in Rochester, NY. Two young men that have intentionally opened up this year to serve in ministry. It has been a blessing to have them with us. They are returning from time with family during Christmas, and will be with us for at least a couple more months. I am excited to see them investing in lots of ministry opportunities through our church. While my focus is on the discipleship center, I get to see through the lives of the interns the other ministries that God is working through. To hear how God is using the body of Christ for His glory.
I've been really grateful that they also live with us because I think it is such a strong framework for discipleship. Opening up your home to have others live life with you. To not just see you on a Sunday morning, but see who you are throughout every day of the week. We have been able to be in rhythms of devotionals, prayer, theological discussions, and community living together. The open invitation of our home has become yet another opportunity for the Great Commission.
Looking Forward to 2026:

We look forward to this new year with hope and expectancy for what God is doing here in Costa Rica. We have two graduates the month of January, three graduates the month of February, and more to come as the year progresses! It is a blessing to see the fruit of this program. To see the lives of these men restored and how that affects their families. Restored marriages. Restored parental relationships. The work of God creates a ripple effect. This is our vision. That through the changed lives of those who are discipled, they go out and make disciples. In this way, we seek to turn the town of Jaco upside down, and to see generational change. God is breaking chains.
To our partners and givers:
Thank you for helping make this ministry possible. We love sharing with you what God is doing here, because you are partaking in the fruit of this ministry. You are building treasures in Heaven through the impact that your generosity is making on the lives of those here in Costa Rica. We have great joy to see the lives of these men changed and to know that the generosity of the body of Christ makes it possible. We are deeply grateful for your support.
Partner Invitation:
As we enter 2026, ministry needs will continue and expand. We extend an invitation to be a part of the Great Commission in action here in Costa Rica if you have not partnered with us. We invite you to pray into a monthly commitment to this ministry for 2026, and to be able to join in the blessing of the fruit in this ministry. Out of all the goals that could be set for the new year, partnering in missions is an intentional decision to expand your involvement in the Great Commission.
