June Update: Graduates & Soon-to-be Baby!

Hello & blessings! We are excited to share another update with you! As I am writing, we are currently in San Jose, the capital city, waiting any day now for the arrival of our son. We are so excited for our baby boy! And we are excited to share more updates of what God is doing in our program!

Graduates:

We have two more graduates from the month of June! We continue to praise God for the life

transformation that these men walk in. Only through Jesus Christ can we walk in new life and stand firm against past sin. This brings the total to 20 graduates from this year-long program! Of which, 19 have stayed sober, and the one who relapsed is now back on his feet and seeking to follow God. What makes us different is that we are adamant that we aren't a rehab center. We are a discipleship program. We do bring men into our program from the traps of sin with drugs and alcohol, but our main goal is not to see these men sober. It is to see them as followers of Christ and Godly leaders. Sobriety is a byproduct of following Jesus.

Romans 6:11-14

11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. 14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.

Following Christ leads us to leave behind our old lives and old ways of living. To find victory over sin through the power of the Holy Spirit. Through Jesus, these men can leave the temptation of drugs and alcohol behind. But even more, to offer themselves as slaves to righteousness. They are called to lay down their pride, their desire for control, their hatred, their anger, their greed. They are called to walk a life of holiness by abiding in the One who has cleansed us. Who has justified us through His death and resurrection. Please pray for these truths to reign within the hearts and minds of our graduates and those who come into our program.

Family:

As I mentioned, we are currently in the city waiting for the birth of our son. We are blessed beyond measure to grow our family. Thank you for your prayers for our family at this time. We continue to ask for your prayers for Chloe, the child, and that the birth will go well. We are excited to share in our next update more details about how the birth went and more about our son.

Psalm 127:3

Children are a blessing and a gift from the Lord.

Prayer Requests/Needs:

  • We ask you to continue to pray for Chloe and the baby as we approach birth. Pray for our little boy. Pray for his salvation. Thank you for your continued prayers during her pregnancy.

  • Please pray for our family as we learn to balance family life and ministry. Pray for God to give me wisdom on how to be a faithful dad, husband, and disciple-maker.

  • Please pray for the program. That our students will surrender their lives to Jesus, that our graduates will stand firm, and that our leadership will thrive in making disciples.

  • Please pray for God to continue to provide for our growing family and us. For those not on our team, we invite you to consider giving to the ministry or becoming a monthly partner. Here is our link to get involved!

May the peace and grace of the LORD be with you all!
